Our PSI Stage I, Modeling Certification graduation exam is a 7-minute conversation.

We like practical results. Our final exam for our students is very simple. They meet a new person they've never met before, and talk with them informally for 7 minutes. Then after, they are able to describe how the person learns best, what is the structure of their motivation, and some key beliefs and values.

To truly appreciate someone else, our students learn to step out of their own point of view, to temporarily set aside their "filters" on reality -- so they can understand someone new. This sounds simple, but it takes practice and profound respect. You will learn what your OWN filters are -- beliefs, for example, learned at home or from your culture, about what is "right" or "important". These filters sometimes screen out information about how other people really feel.

In short, our graduates demonstrate that they can appreciate someone new in a short time, and be able to link up with them. We teach people to observe the right verbal and non-verbal signals and to really HEAR what the new person cares about.

A key measure for passing the 7-minute modeling exam is both people have a great time while they are sharing a warm conversation!
